Ranking the best sleep gummies of 2022

Written by John Davis

Last updated: June 28, 2022

Sleep gummies are flavored gummy supplements that help you (or your kids) fall asleep. Sleep gummies use ingredients like melatonin, L-theanine, and valerian root that both help you fall asleep faster and sleep through the night without waking up.

Looking for an easy way for more restful sleep? Our research team has ranked the best sleep gummies on the market, plus provided in-depth info on whether sleep gummies are right for you.

Rankings

1. MaryRuth’s Sleep Gummies

Check price at Amazon

MaryRuth’s is a reliable brand for all-natural and effective supplements, and that reputation is fitting with this sleep gummy.

It combines melatonin with L-theanine, lemon balm extract, and vitamin B6 for encouraging restful sleep, and on top of that, it’s one of the few sleep gummies that doesn’t use sugar for flavoring. These strengths make MaryRuth’s our favorite sleep gummy.

2. SugarBear Sleep Vitamins

Check price at Amazon

SugarBear takes a comprehensive approach to encouraging healthy sleep: it includes tried and true ingredients like melatonin and valerian root, plus vitamins and minerals known to contribute to restful sleep, like vitamin B6 and magnesium.

Add to that some specialized ingredients, like the neurotransmitter 5-HTP, and you’ve got an excellent all-around formulation that lands high in our rankings.

3. OLLY Extra Strength Sleep

Check price at Amazon

OLLY makes several variants of their sleep gummy, but the Extra Strength version is the one to get if you want the most potent ingredients. It includes 2.5 mg of melatonin per gummy, alongside L-theanine, chamomile, passionflower, and lemon balm.

Though it doesn’t have some of the more advanced ingredients like valerian root and 5-HTM, it’s a reliable and potent sleep gummy that’s well-suited for falling asleep and staying asleep.

4. Zarbee’s Children’s Sleep Gummies

Check price at Amazon

Zarbee’s makes a sleep gummy that’s specially formulated for children. It’s flavored with honey, sugar, and fruit juice, and includes a child-sized one milligram dose of melatonin.

While it doesn’t have the same variety of ingredients that our top-ranked options have, the simplicity, low dosage, and great taste make it the perfect choice for kids.

5. Bulletproof Sleep Gummies

Check price at Amazon

Bulletproof makes a pretty solid sleep gummy that combines melatonin with L-theanine and GABA, a neurotransmitter ingredient not often seen in other sleep gummies.

Add to that the use of non-caloric sugar alcohol instead of sugar for sweetness, and it’s a good option if you want a neurotransmitter-focused sleep gummy.

6. Natrol Melatonin Gummies

Check price at Amazon

Natrol makes a pretty standard sleep gummy that delivers a respectable 5 mg of melatonin per gummy.

It’s flavored with sugar, and it doesn’t include any other supplements for aiding sleep, but if all you need is a solid dose of melatonin in gummy form, it’s a good option.

7. Vicks ZzzQuil Pure Zzzs

Check price at Amazon

Vicks has a solid, well-rounded formulation for their sleep gummies that combines melatonin with ashwagandha, chamomile, lemon balm, and valerian root. All of these are popular herbal compounds for inducing sleep, relaxation, and mental calmness.

This makes Pure Zzzs a good choice if you’re kept up by racing thoughts and muscle tension, and gives it a versatility that puts it ahead of much of the competition. The only downside is the inclusion of synthetic coloring agents.

8. Solterra Naturals Hempzzz Ultra Sleep Gummies

Check price at Amazon

Solterra Naturals takes a different tack with this sleep gummy: instead of relying on traditional ingredients like melatonin, it uses a combination of hemp oil extract and omega fatty acids (3,6, and 9 in combination).

This alternative formulation strategy is worth a shot if other sleep gummies aren’t working for you, but for most people there are better options.

9. NutraChamps Sleep Gummies

Check price at Amazon

NutraChamps takes a pretty standard approach to their sleep gummies: the sleep-inducing effects of melatonin are accompanied by herbal extracts including L-theanine, lemon balm, and lavender extract.

The main downside is that these ingredients are locked up in a proprietary blend, making it difficult to determine whether the dosages are effective.

10. Nature Made Sleep & Beauty

Check price at Amazon

Nature Made designed this supplement to aid both skin health and sleep, but the formulation leans a bit too heavily into skin and hair health versus sleep. Each gummy has 1.5 mg of melatonin, but no other sleep-focused ingredients.

While the inclusion of biotin and hydrolyzed collagen is helpful for connective tissue, the dosages aren’t high enough to have a big impact, which lands this supplement further down in the rankings.

Category winners

Best sleep gummies overall: MaryRuth’s Sleep Gummies

MaryRuth’s has a solid dose of melatonin, plus effective herbal extracts like lemon balm and L-theanine. On top of that, it’s sugar-free and doesn’t use any artificial flavors or coloring agents. This focused and effective formulation helps it garner our top recommendation overall.

Best sleep gummies for kids: Zarbee’s Children’s Sleep Gummies

Zarbee’s is tasty, low-dosage, and simple: its only ingredient is melatonin, and the one milligram dose makes it easy to adjust dosages for children across a wide range of ages. Its simplicity and child-friendly dosage make it our recommendation for kids.

Best sleep gummies with valerian root: SugarBear Sleep Vitamins

Valerian root has long been used as an herbal remedy for better sleep, and SugarBear does a great job of incorporating it alongside melatonin, 5-HTP, and other compounds for sleep. If you want an effective sleep gummy that delivers a solid dose of valerian, SugarBear is our recommended pick.

Best sleep gummies for jet lag: OLLY Extra Strength Sleep

The high dose of melatonin in OLLY Extra Strength Sleep makes a big difference when dealing with the negative effects of jet lag, as does the inclusion of compounds like chamomile and passionflower, which can help you decompress and relax after a long flight.

Best sugar-free sleep gummies: MaryRuth’s Sleep Gummies

While most sleep gummies are loaded up with sugar for sweetness, MaryRuth’s relies instead on calorie-free sugar alcohols. These gummies are great if you’re diabetic, on the keto diet, or just trying to cut sugar out of your diet as much as possible.

Best sleep gummies with 5-HTP: SugarBear Sleep Vitamins

SugarBear’s formulation is on the forefront of sleep aid ingredients, and the neurotransmitter 5-HTP is one of these. 5-HTP contributes to serotonin levels in the brain, which are important not just for sleep but also feelings of relaxation versus anxiety. If you want a sleep gummy that’s formulated with these considerations in mind, SugarBear is the way to go.

Who should buy sleep gummies?

Sleep gummies are great for people who either have a hard time falling asleep, or have a hard time staying asleep through the night. These kinds of sleep disturbances can be the result of temporary causes, like jet lag, or more chronic causes, like a stressful work life or the effects of aging on healthy sleep function.

Either way, a sleep gummy can help via the action of melatonin, valerian root, chamomile, passion flower, and other sleep-inducing or sleep-modulating active ingredients.

Jet lag is one case where almost everyone can benefit from sleep gummies: the disruption to your body’s circadian rhythm that is caused by changing several time zones can be significantly reduced by careful use of a melatonin-containing sleep gummy.

Research indicates that melatonin-containing sleep gummies are particularly effective in people who are innately prone to jet lag, and for flights that are traveling eastward (since it is harder to adjust to earlier bedtimes than it is to adjust to later bedtimes heading west).

Sleep gummies are particularly good for children with sleep disturbances, who often can’t take capsule-form sleep aids and need a lower dosage of key ingredients like melatonin.

Some sleep gummies are specifically targeted for kids and include a lower dose of melatonin, plus fewer additional ingredients. These sleep gummies can be very useful when your children can’t sleep, especially when they’re sick or jet-lagged after travel.

Older adults are another group that can benefit a lot from sleep gummies. Sleep disturbances get more common with age, and older adults often have trouble swallowing pills or just don’t want to take another pill, because they already take several pills every day. Sleep gummies solve this problem in a straightforward manner.

How we ranked

To make our sleep gummy rankings, we started from a large pool of several dozen sleep gummies on the market. We immediately eliminated any without melatonin, since it’s one of the most effective supplements when it comes to both speeding the onset of sleep and helping you stay asleep at night.

Then, we looked to see which of the remaining sleep gummies delivered an effective dose of melatonin. Effective doses are anywhere from 1 mg to 5 mg; anything outside this range (or anything with the melatonin content obscured in a proprietary blend) got eliminated.

Next, we gave points to sleep gummies with useful additional ingredients delivered at effective dosages. These additional ingredients included well-known supplements for sleep and relaxation, like valerian root, passion flower, and chamomile, as well as vitamins and minerals that help with sleep, like magnesium and vitamin B6.

This led us to rank brands like MaryRuth’s, SugarBear, and OLLY (which have these extra ingredients) higher than more generic formulations like Natrol and NutraChamps. The only exception to this rule was Zarbee’s Sleep Gummies, which has no active ingredients beyond melatonin–we still ranked highly because it is the best option for kids, who are better suited for simpler sleep gummies.

We also took points off from otherwise solid supplements that included synthetic coloring agents, since some people are sensitive to these ingredients.

This is why Vicks ZzzQuil landed lower in the rankings than it otherwise would have had it not had these artificial coloring agents.

Likewise, because keeping sugar intake to a minimum is a priority for many people, we also rewarded sleep gummies like MaryRuth’s which used natural non-caloric sweeteners instead of sugar to flavor their gummies.

Lastly, we looked for any supplements that used cutting-edge ingredients like 5-HTP and GABA, giving these a small bonus for users interested in more advanced sleep gummies.

Some emerging research suggests that these more advanced neurotransmitter-based ingredients could have stress-soothing effects that might help in ways that other sleep gummies can’t.

After taking all of these factors into account, we were left with our final rankings of the best ten sleep gummies on the market.

Benefits

Sleep gummies that contain melatonin can help you fall asleep more quickly and improve the quality of your sleep. Melatonin, a hormone that’s naturally produced by your body, is one of the most effective supplements at improving sleep quality, and one of its primary benefits is helping you fall asleep. Many studies have been conducted on the effectiveness of melatonin: in 2013, a meta-analysis reviewed 19 different studies with over 1600 different patients concluded that melatonin is remarkably effective at improving sleep quality (1).

Importantly, all of these studies were conducted with placebo controls: half the people in each study received an inert supplement without knowing it. These findings demonstrate that melatonin in sleep gummies has more than just a placebo effect: it has real biological influence on both the onset and the quality of sleep.

When it comes to falling asleep, a higher dose of sleep gummies is better, but dosage is not important when it comes to staying asleep and overall sleep quality. One of the upsides of having so much research on sleep supplements that contain melatonin is that it is possible to tease apart the way dosage affects the various benefits of a melatonin-containing sleep gummy.

A naive perspective would be that higher dosages are better or stronger for all aspects of sleep, but that turns out not to be the case (2).

The reality is a bit more subtle: sleep gummies with higher doses of melatonin (up to about 5 mg) seem to be more effective at speeding the onset of sleep, but when it comes to staying asleep through the night, dosage doesn’t seem to matter: a sleep gummy with 0.5 mg of melatonin is just as effective as a handful of gummies containing 5 mg. Keeping this in mind will help you calibrate the right sleep gummy dosage to alleviate your specific sleep issues.

Sleep gummies that contain valerian root may help improve the quality of your sleep, but the quality of the ingredients matters. Valerian root is an herbal extract that’s widely used as a sleep aid, and it can be found in several of our top-ranked sleep gummies.

A review of the current scientific literature published in 2020 by a team of researchers in Japan and the UK in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine reviewed 60 different studies on valerian root for a perspective on the current state of research (3).

They found strong evidence for a beneficial effect of valerian root on sleep quality, but wide variation in the results of individual studies. The authors suggested that the wide variation in the results may have been the result of different preparations of the valerian root and different concentrations of the active ingredients.

Based on these findings, we put extra emphasis in our rankings on finding sleep gummies that used a high-quality source of valerian root, and ideally one with a standardized concentration.

Sleep gummies can help with jet lag. When you fly cross-country or across continents, the change in time zones can seriously disrupt your circadian rhythm. Fortunately, sleep gummies that contain melatonin can help reduce the symptoms of jet lag.

A systematic review of research by the Cochrane Collaboration found that melatonin-containing supplements are an effective way to speed up adaptations to your new time zone when you travel, particularly when you cross five or more time zones (4).

Even your adaptation to a change of as few as two time zones can be improved by taking melatonin-containing sleep gummies.

When dealing with jet lag with sleep gummies, your personal susceptibility and the direction you are traveling both affect the usefulness of sleep gummies. Two other factors influence the effectiveness of sleep gummies at alleviating jet lag. First is your personal susceptibility to jet lag: some people are just more affected than others.

For those who have a history of experiencing jet lag symptoms, melatonin-containing supplements appear to be particularly effective. Second is whether you are flying eastward or westward: because of the asymmetry in how your circadian clock adapts to earlier versus later bedtimes, jet lag can be particularly bad when flying east.

This is because it is easier for your body to adapt to a later bedtime than to adapt to an earlier bedtime. For the same reason, melatonin-containing sleep gummies are especially effective at treating jet lag when you are flying east, because of their ability to induce sleep.

Sleep gummies with chamomile can help soothe anxiety and improve sleep quality. Are you kept up by an anxious, racing mind? If so, you might want to check out sleep gummies that include chamomile, a natural herb that’s often used in tea and that is thought to have calming effects.

A review study in 2019 published in the journal Phytotherapy Research put these common beliefs to the test: it evaluated several different studies on chamomile and its ability to calm symptoms of anxiety and improve sleep quality (5).

Across the twelve different studies included in the review, the authors found evidence that chamomile supplementation both helps reduce generalized anxiety disorder and improves quality of sleep.

These findings suggest that sleep gummies containing chamomile are a particularly good choice if you think that some of your sleep issues are being caused by anxiety-induced stress, versus merely physiological disturbances in your body’s circadian rhythm.

Passion flower is another sleep gummy ingredient that has been found to improve sleep quality with regular use. Passion flower is an edible flower that, like chamomile and valerian root, has long been used to induce relaxation and improve sleep quality.

A double-blind placebo-controlled trial by a research team in Australia put these ideas to the test by studying the effects of passion flower in 41 adults with mild sleep disturbances (6).

Half the participants in the study were assigned a placebo, while the other half received a passion flower supplement. Everyone in the study used a sleep diary to record the quality of their sleep every night. After seven days followed by a one-week wash-out period, the groups were flipped, so every study participant took both the placebo and the passion flower supplement.

The results of the study showed significant improvements in sleep quality when the participants were on the passion flower supplement, compared to when they were on the placebo. Especially if you are looking for a sleep gummy that you’ll take on a regular basis (versus just for one-off or occasional sleep disturbances), buying a sleep gummy that’s formulated with passion flower is a smart idea.

Sleep gummies are great both for kids and for older adults. Sleep gummies fill a niche for people who can’t or don’t like to swallow pills, tablets, or capsules.

Children and older adults are two classic examples: many kids are too young to swallow pill-based supplements, or don’t like them.

The sweet taste and chewable formulation in sleep gummies is great for medication-averse kids, particularly those with medical conditions like autism and intellectual disabilities that can affect sleep quality–indeed, much of the research on sleep supplements in children to date has been focused on children with conditions in these conditions (7,8).

Older adults are also good candidates for taking sleep gummies, because they often already take a bevy of medications and adding another capsule to swallow can be an annoyance at best and a burden at worst–many older adults already struggle with swallowing.

Moreover, sleep disturbances are very common among older adults: one study conducted on a large sample of older American adults found that the prevalence of sleep disturbances in this population ranged from 10% among those with no medical conditions to 40% among those with chronic health conditions like hypertension, arthritis, diabetes, memory problems, and depression (9).

As with sleep supplements in children, there is a substantial body of evidence that sleep-aiding supplements can improve sleep quality in older adults (10,11).

Sleep gummies containing GABA might help reduce stress and improve sleep quality. While most sleep gummies rely on traditional ingredients like melatonin and various herbal extracts, a small group of sleep gummies are starting to incorporate more advanced compounds that either act as neurotransmitters or act as precursors for these neurotransmitters.

These include 5-HTP and GABA, and among these two, GABA has some of the most promising initial evidence supporting its use.

A scientific review article published in 2020 in the journal Frontiers in Neuroscience evaluated 14 studies on GABA supplementation and its effects on both stress and sleep quality (12).

Though the evidence was preliminary, several studies found evidence supporting the ability of GABA supplementation to reduce stress levels, and some studies supported the idea that GABA could improve sleep quality as well.

Like with chamomile, a GABA-containing sleep gummy could be a great choice if you know that your sleep quality is being negatively affected by stress that keeps your mind racing as you try to fall asleep.

A GABA-based sleep gummy that also provides the standard ingredients (melatonin, valerian root, etc.) would be a great option to try if you are having stress-based sleep disturbances.

Sleep gummies might not solve underlying issues that are causing your sleep problems. While the evidence is strong that sleep gummies containing melatonin, valerian root, or chamomile can both help you fall asleep and stay asleep, they can’t solve some of the underlying problems that cause poor quality sleep.

If you are taking sleep apnea but are still having sleep problems, you should look into potential other causes: sleep apnea, for example, exists undetected in many people who feel they have poor-quality sleep, and some of the causes of restless leg syndrome can’t be addressed with a sleep gummy.

So, if you are still having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep even while taking a sleep gummy, you should see a sleep specialist to see if there are underlying health conditions that are at the root of your sleep trouble.

Side effects

Sleep gummies with melatonin might leave you feeling groggy if you take it at the wrong time of day. Sleep gummies based on melatonin are quite safe–one of the chief attractions of melatonin as a supplement is its excellent safety profile.

The only notable side effect of melatonin is grogginess that occurs if you take it at the wrong time of day – for example, if you take it early in the evening intending to go to bed, but end up staying up late (13).

Sleep gummies with valerian root can cause a headache, dizziness, or an upset stomach. Valerian root, another common sleep gummy ingredient, is also widely regarded as safe, but according to the Mayo Clinic can sometimes cause headaches and dizziness, as well as minor gastrointestinal complaints (14).

People with liver or kidney disease shouldn’t take sleep gummies. Since the herbal compounds included in sleep gummies (like valerian root, passion flower, and chamomile) are metabolized by the liver and the kidney, these supplements should not be taken by people who have liver or kidney disease, or who take medications that affect liver and kidney function.

As with any herbal supplement, if you find yourself in this category you should consult with your doctor first before starting a supplementation routine.

People with epilepsy and people on blood thinners should not take sleep gummies. Though the safety profile of sleep supplements is very good, there are a few case reports that suggest that people living with epilepsy, or people taking blood thinners like warfarin might rarely have negative reactions to melatonin-containing sleep gummies (15).

Recommended dosage

Since all of our sleep gummies use melatonin as one of their core ingredients, overall sleep gummy dosage should be proportional to the melatonin content.

The latest science suggests that dosages of 0.5-5 mg of melatonin are equally effective at helping you stay asleep through the night, but you should lean towards the higher end of that dose range if you have trouble falling asleep, as opposed to staying asleep or are getting poor-quality sleep throughout the night (16).

This dosage corresponds to 2-4 sleep gummies depending on the exact formulation of the sleep gummy you choose.

Notably, you should take them all at once–because sleep gummies work by stimulating the burst of sleep-inducing hormones that occur in people with healthy sleep rhythms, taking a brief high dose of sleep gummies is much more effective than taking a slow-release formulation, or spacing out a dose of four sleep gummies across two hours.

Appropriate sleep gummy dosages for jet lag are similar to those for run of the mill sleep disturbances: enough to get between 0.5 and 5 mg of melatonin.

Dosage timing matters just the same, too: taken about an hour before your target bedtime, sleep gummies are a remarkably effective way to combat jet lag (17).

Interestingly, the right sleep gummy dosages for children doesn’t seem to differ much from that of adults, at least based on the research to date (18).

Admittedly this research is based mostly on children with a range of medical conditions that affect sleep quality, and as such might not reflect the level of melatonin needed by otherwise healthy children with trouble falling asleep, but 0.5-5 mg melatonin dosages are reported to be similarly effective.

When it comes to the other ingredients in sleep gummies, like valerian root and chamomile, there’s less certainty over the right dosage–that’s why we ranked our sleep gummies primarily based on melatonin dosage, and only secondarily on the dosage of these compounds (19).

FAQ

Q: How much melatonin should be in a sleep gummy?

A: Melatonin-based sleep gummies should contain a minimum of 0.5 mg of melatonin per gummy. This dosage level facilitates calibrating your intake across the range of typical melatonin dosages for inducing sleep, which is between 0.5 mg and 5 mg.

If you are specifically having trouble falling asleep (versus staying asleep), you should get a sleep gummy with 1.5-2.5 mg of melatonin, and take two an hour before bed for a 5 mg dosage.

Q: Can kids take sleep gummies?

A: Yes, sleep gummies are safe for children. Our top-ranked sleep gummy for children, Zarbee’s Sleep Gummies, is designed with kid-friendly flavoring, a lower melatonin dosage, and no other active ingredients, making it a great choice for parents who want a simple and safe sleep gummy for their kids.

Q: Can you overdose on sleep gummies?

A: No scientific research has indicated that an overdose on sleep gummies is possible. Small studies have been conducted using massive doses of melatonin (the primary ingredient in most sleep gummies) at far higher levels that would exist in an entire bottle of sleep gummies, with no apparent ill effects (20). Unlike sedative-based sleeping pills, overdosing with sleep gummies is not a concern.

Q: Is it bad to take melatonin after drinking alcohol?

A: There are no known interactions between common sleep gummy ingredients and alcohol.

However, sleep gummies can’t mitigate the negative effects on sleep quality that are caused by alcohol consumption, so if you’re expecting sleep gummies to help you sleep better after a night of drinking, you might be disappointed.

Q: When should you take sleep gummies?

A: The research on sleep supplements indicates pretty clearly that the right time to take sleep gummies is about one hour before your target bedtime.

Even if you are taking multiple sleep gummies, you should take them all at once: the active compounds in sleep gummies work best when delivered in a concentrated dose, so don’t spread them out over a longer stretch of time.

Q: Is it safe to use melatonin-containing sleep gummies long-term?

A: One of the reasons that sleep gummies are such a great and versatile supplement is that they’ve been intently studied, even in cases of long-term use.

According to a scientific article published in 2015 in the journal Clinical Drug Investigation, long-term use of melatonin has no serious side effects compared to placebo (21).

This conclusion was drawn from studies following subjects for up to three years. The one area where long-term safety data are lacking is in children and adolescents: the authors caution that more research needs to be done in this area.

For this reason, you should consult your child’s pediatrician about long-term use of sleep gummies in your child.

Q: How are sleep gummies made?

A: The ingredients that make sleep gummies have their distinctive texture and squishiness are starch, sugar, and gelatin.

In this way, sleep gummies are made similarly to any other gummy candy, except that sleep gummies also include biologically active compounds like melatonin, chamomile, passion flower, and valerian root, which give them their sleep-assisting properties.

Notably, the sugar is not strictly necessary: other compounds that add sweetness, like all-natural non-caloric sugar alcohols, work just as well, and some of our top-ranked sleep gummies use these ingredients instead of sugar to keep their carb content at zero (which is perfect for diabetics, keto dieters, and anyone else watching their sugar intake)

Q: Are capsule-based sleep supplements better than sleep gummies?

A: When it comes to inducing the onset of sleep and helping you stay asleep at night, all that really matters is the quality of the active ingredients, not the method of delivery.

Some supplement purists and minimalists prefer the simplicity of capsule-based supplements, because sleep gummies naturally require more ingredients: binders and stabilizers to give the supplement its gummy texture, and flavoring and coloring agents to make it palatable.

Nevertheless, sleep gummies are great if you can’t or don’t like to swallow whole capsules, which is why they are a great option for older adults and for children.

Q: Are CBD gummies good for sleep?

A: Cannabidiol (CBD) has shown significant promise as a sleep aid, and can be found in some sleep gummies sold at cannabis dispensaries.

However, there’s a lot more uncertainty on the efficacy of CBD gummies for sleep, in part due to severe regulatory restrictions on cannabis-related medical research, and in part due to the legal gray area that CBD currently occupies.

There are a few hemp-based sleep gummies available on the broader market, like our #8-ranked Solterra Naturals Hempzzz Ultra Sleep Gummies, but for now we consider these fallback options for people for whom traditional melatonin and herbal extract-based sleep gummies aren’t working.

If that describes you, feel free to give CBD gummies a shot, but most people should start with a melatonin-based sleep gummy.

Q: How long does it take for sleep gummies to start working?

A: It takes approximately one hour for the effects of sleep gummies to kick in: since sleep gummies work by augmenting your body’s natural hormonal response that occurs around bedtime (which is characterized most distinctly by a large spike in melatonin).

So, there is some delay between when you take a sleep gummy and when its active ingredients have been fully absorbed by your body and start having an effect on your brain’s regulation of your sleep-wake cycle.

Q: How do sleep gummies work?

A: Sleep gummies work by generating a surge in sleep-inducing hormones in your body. Principal among these is the hormone melatonin, which is included in all of our top-ranked sleep gummies.

A brief spike in melatonin is a signal to your body to switch its sleep-wake cycle, and disturbances in melatonin are connected with disturbances in sleep cycles. By externally triggering a surge of melatonin, sleep gummies get your body’s sleep-wake cycle back on track.
